Before entering law school, I spent three decades responding to emergencies as a firefighter, paramedic, and nurse in the ER and on medevac planes. I have worked in local and state government from the mountains of North Carolina to the desert of Arizona to the “Last Frontier” of Alaska. A lifetime spent finding the best way to handle whatever situation caused a call to 911 has honed an ability to calmly and rapidly adapt to evolving situations regardless of whether the emergency is medical or legal.
I never served on active duty, but I am the son of a veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Officer Candidate School and I consider it an honor to be able to assist Utah’s veterans in securing the benefits to which they are entitled.
